"Thumbs up"

When the first seventeen young trees of Seaside Gateway Trail were installed next to Perry Memorial Arch in spring 2022 the site did not have irrigation. That summer was particulary HOT and rainless and with a devoted team of volunteers from UB, Aspetuck Land Trust and The Fairfield Garden Club we watered those trees by hand with a long garden hose. Many passerbys approached to comment, "That's great what you are doing", or simply smile and give the thumbs up. Proof that it feels good even to witness care of our shared community spaces. That was when I knew the idea of a Park City Conservancy could work.
